I bought a 2002 Beneteau 331 last year. This year I noticed that the non-opening port on the Port side was clouding over with mildew on the inside. Unlike the non-opening port on the starboard side which is accessible from the aft cabin the port side is not. I have tried seeing if I could access the port from the sail locker (lazerette) or from the cabinet in the galley. No luck. I called Beneteau Tech Service. Their suggestion was to drill a small hole at the top and bottom. The port is not removebale. It is laminated to the inside hull wall.
The reason for the non-accessible port is that a two (2) aft cabin arrangement was an option in the 2002 Beneteau. This would have been the reason for a non-opening port on the port side.
Any suggestion from other Beneteau owners on how to access the port from the inside, clean the mildew and vent the space would be appreciated.
