Backed into a dock post, and bent one of my stern pulpits. I sort of leans forward a couple of inches. Any advice on straightning this out? How do I bend 1 inch stainless tubing back into shape? Ivan E

Need vise

Hi Ivan - You may need to remove the entire pulpit and use a vise of some sort to hold the area near the damage for leverage. You might contact a canvas shop (one that makes dodgers and biminis) to see if they can help you (since they bend bows). Sorry I can't be of more help, Trevor

try an old car bumper type jack

I once bent a bow pulpit the same way. I straightened it so well you could not tell. By carefully positioning a car bumper jack at the right location, you can probably straighten it while it is still attached to the boat. The key is to make sure the jack is NOT pushing against the hull or deck in any way, but, if possible, against another part of the pulpit. Good Luck John

Glad I'm not the only one

Thanks for advise, and I'm glad I'm not only one to have messed this up... ;)
