Bed New Scupper Grates?

I got new scupper grates from CatalinaDirect. Do I need to bed these with 5200, or just screw them to the sole?

Use 4200 or butyl rubber; 5200 is a pain to remove later. Not bedding can lead to leaks and rotten core.

Scuppers are the drains in the cockpit floor. Scupper grates are metal covers with holes for the water to drain thru but not debris that would clog up the drain lines.

Ok I need new ones too and was thinking of going to Home Depo making my own?? are the exspensive to purchase threw Catalina?

Just went to Orchard Supply and Purchase 2 shower drain grates that fit perfect..Used 4200 to seal them in place fit like a glove

Seeings how they wont rust and are made for constant walking on i couldnt see an issue with that.
