Beautiful day in the neighborhood

Sailed to pelican bay at Cayo Costa SP.. Turned off the engine at the end of our channel , ran downwind across the mouths of the Peace and Myakka rivers. Jibed and broad reached down the west wall of Charlotte Harbor. Jibed at Cape Haze #5 and broad reached to ICW #74. Saw Pelicans, Ospreys, cormorants, ducks and gulls. Reached thru a pod of 12-15 bottle nosed Dolphin. Great air display with flips and pirouettes. Couple of dolphin accompanied us for an hour or so. Anchored by ourselves in a quiet cove. 15-20 knot northeast breeze, ripples on the water. No frost.

Damn Bill I wish we could be there. I am committed to shoot video all day Saturday. Look for Journey On anchored near by. They left early this afternoon.

have a home in Cape Harbour and probably keep her at Tarpon Point. She draws 5 1/2.
Pelican Bay is an awesome place but only been there in a power boat. Will the H460
make it in?

Yes. I have waypoints and a chart, but basically 240 from ICW # 74 to the manatee sign on the shore ,the hug tightly to the western beach till you get to the cove to the west. 180 to the ranger dock. On all but the lowest tides, you will be in 6 feet or better. PM me with your email and I will send the chart after nov 14 when we get home from this cruise.

5.5 feet will keep you out of some of Florida bay and some of the keys, but not too much else. What is your mast height? 55 foot bridges may keep you out of Ft Myers, the Caloosahatchee and Lake O.

That is it. I don't have my scanner with us on the boat. Thanks due to Scott Glover at IYC who led the charting effort.

Thank you for the info and chart. The H460 has a 63 ft mast plus the wind indicator
and ant. The Sanibel bridge and Fort Myers Beach bridge would be ok but that's it.
