I have a coronado shoal keel boat and I want to beach it for replacement of a through hull. Any ideas? I dont want to cause any unneeded damage. Is this a bad idea? Sandy puget sound beach.

what if you can't get the new one in before the tide picks up the boat? Be safe pull the boat. Nothing ever goes according to plan.

It's called careening and if you're not breaking any local laws..... go for it. Just make sure you don't do it at maximum high tide for the month... in other words you want to make sure the subsequent high tide will float the boat off.

You can always plug the hole temporily if you miscalculate the tide. The adhesive(4200 or 5200) will cure underwater.

Through hull on one side or the other at the waterline? Use sandbags or a large trash can of water tied to your boom. Some folks squeak under low bridges that way.
