BAVARIA CRUISER 37-50ft

Wife and I have been back on the search for a sailboat that we intend to hang out in the keys and the islands. We plan to live aboard for the first six months and bring our four year old with us.

Has anyone encountered the Bavaria or sailed a Bavaria? Great price on a 2019 for a little over $135 for a 34ft. I'm not sure how cramped that would be for 2 adults and a 4 year old.

Thinking more toward 37 and up. Any thoughts or opinions are welcomed.

Happy Sailing Everyone!

We love our Bavaria 35E. It's a well-built boat with good performance characteristics. We use the V berth for our cabin and guests have the aft stateroom. I think a 4-year-old would be comfy with the room in the aft. We just like the headroom of the V berth.

Pumpkinpie, did you buy a boat? We went to Annapolis in 2015 to look for a 38' boat and ended up with a Bavaria Vision 46, new from 2016. Love the boat. The 38 was also very nice, but after she saw the 46' that was it.

JRT, if you can get your C310 to the Gulf Coast, I think you would enjoy an extended cruise along the Florida coast to the keys. We bought our C310 in Brandon, FL, and sailed her from Englewood, FL, to the Everglades and the keys several times. We enjoyed those trips immensely.

I chartered a 2017 Bavaria 37 and I did not like it that much. Mainly because of the roller furled main that kept jamming and the headsail furler also. Otherwise the boat was comfortable and reliable.

I agree but 2 teens with 5 years to go to finish school here is a higher priority. Right now my son at 15 already has a full academic scholarship at UAH so if my daughter gets something similar we could be very ready then with a 310 that is already paid for and zero debt!
