Does anyone have a Bavaria 36 with air conditioning installed? I'd like to know where it was installed in your boat and what manufacturer make, model and BTU size was installed? How well is it working for you?

Have a split-system 12k Btu on WindSong
I have a 12,000 Btu Air & Heat system on my 2003 Bav 36. It's a split system with the compressor in the rear of the starboard lazerette, and the air handler / evaporator in the Port settee. It works very well - even on hot days in MD, USA on the Chesapeake Bay. You can see a couple of pix on the BYOA website (in addition to many other upgrades you might want to make). Ken

2003 B36 A/C
The a/c unit in my 36 is contained in the port side locker with all the duct work running on the same side. The unit is just forward of the refrigeration unit. I believe it is also the 12000 btu unit Ken has, which is a Crusiar. If you'd like I can take some photos of the install and send them to you. Reach me at bavaria36@verizon.net

2004 B32 A/C
We have a 16,000 BTU Crusair reverse cycle (a/c-heat) system installed in the large middle compartment under the V-berth. It works beautifully and is not loud enough to disturb sleep. The intake register is under the front of the V-berth. The ductwork runs through the port closet (taking up a fair amount of space, unfortunately) and continues along the port side to the aft cabin. We have vents in the forward, main and aft cabins. The condensate drains through a hose into the limbre holes under the cabin sole to the bilge. We recently installed louvered vents in the V-berth and aft cabin doors to equalize the pressure when the doors are closed. I owe Ken some pictures of the system, but he has pictures of the louvered door vents.

I installed a Cruisair split unit, 16000 BTUs with dual evaporators. 12000 under the port seatee and a 4000 under the vee birth. The compressor is in the starboard lazarette. It does a good job cooling even in Arizona's 115 degrees. It may be a little overkill for your area. It was quite a challenge installing the tubing connections but I was able to snake them down the port side. Having the compressor in the aft made it a lot quieter though. I would be glad to pass on more details if you would like.
