batton size for an 85 23'? measurments?

does anyone know the measurements of the battons on a 1985 hunter 23"? i just bought some generic battons but am not sure if they will fit. i can always ut them to size right?

yes

Yes you can cut them to size. Be sure to put the plastic ends on prior to inserting into the sail. These keep the batton from cutting the sail.

Cut them?

Yes, you can cut them and put the end caps back on. But to determine what size you need is to simply measure the batten pockets.

Batten replacement

Local sailmaker, as well as West/Boat US had battens of various lengths that fit the pocket. Had them cut to length, rounded off the corners and used "Dip-It" to make new more permanent end caps. Alls well.
