It was such a great experience to sail with the USS Texas as she was towed down Galveston Bay last week for dry dock repairs in Galveston.

As a "misplaced" Texan, I have fond memories of touring USS Texas while growing up.

Spent some time touring the Texas myself.. then having a meal at the old San Jacinto Inn

The USS Texas it the only existing Battleship to have fought in WWI and WWII.

Monument Inn was my favorite. Could never decide between the chicken fried steak or a seafood platter. Here's another photo I ran across online. We're one of the boats with our sails up.
