Folks, I've just purchased an item that may save some effort and battery life for us... See the accompanying link. This looks like an answer to the difficult task of gaining access to batteries, pulling off caps, using all manner of funnel and flashlight - sometimes with a mirror, to fill our batteries with water. If you're like me you postpone that job as long as possible. No more! A few pumps on the bulb and all cells are full to the right level, no mess. I saw this in an RV store here in Las Vegas and bought it. Has anyone else used this setup?

neat, but ...

Re: Qwik-Fill Neat idea, but: $60 for a Dual Battery System (too pricey) Qwik-Fill On-board Battery Watering System ONLY works with group size 24 through 27 and most 29 through 31, 12-volt batteries. IMHO Gord

I am heading over to Bass Pro Shop next week and buy a dual unit. It is such a pain to fill my batteries that I don't do it enough. It is the old stand on your head and use a flashlight while you dribble water everwhere. Because of this my batteries always have a short life.

Purty Neat!

I kinda agree with Gord, seems a bit pricy, but all the neat stuff is. Considering that my 3 batteries are down in corner of the lazerette this would really be handy. If history repeats itself, I will spend about 10 hours and 75 bucks trying duplicate this gadget. Then when I get it done and working, I'll tell everybody that it cost 15 bucks and I did it while I was watching "Huff" on Showtime! Hmmm! Jon McClain

Update-Battery Filler

I bought the two-bank filler and while I haven't installed it yet, can tell you that it appears to be of high quality materials. When I think about topping off my bank in a minute instead of an hour - whew!! More time for fun stuff. And the batteries will last longer. I just paid $30 for a shackle to make it easier to connect my main halyard. B.O.A.T. The manufacturer cautions to only top off after charging, which makes sense. If the little floats were at the top of their travel and the battery began to off-gas, I don't know what might happen. Worst case, I guess a hose would pop off or a cap would leak/pop off. They may have some sort or pressure relief. I'll re-post after installation.

Sorry...

Just another thing to fail and lull you into a false sense of security. I would prefer to physically check my batteries and top off as necessary. Just my eversohumble opinion. Cheers, Bob

That gadget looks like it would work in my camper

Don't the batteries have to be right next to each other, end to end?

Fred, Fred, You didn't click on the link did you! Shame on you. No! The batteries can be anywhere within a few feet. Jon

Thanks, Mac

I will wait for next weekend to go to Bass Pro. I lost my last set of batteries because I didn't keep the water level exactly where it needed to be. It is a major pain to check the water level in my 35.5
