Hi there,

I have a hunter 29.5, I have always had the battery position set to off when the boat is on shore power and assumed if I had the battery charger on the shore power switch board set to 'on'.

Recently I plugged in a battery meter into the cigarette lighter and it only showed as charging when the battery position was all,1 or 2.

What do other people have the battery set to?

When your battery switch is set to off, no current can get to the board. Your charger charges but your meter in the cigarette lighter will not show anything because the lighter outlet is not getting any voltage. When you put the switch to all, 1 or 2, then the lighter outlet (and every other circuits) is getting curring and thus you can read it. Set the battery switch to OFF and take a voltage meter to the batteries to see that the charger is indeed charging.

I do the same as you when I am not on the boat and it is connected to shore power.
