I need some input.....and yes I have looked at the archives........ I established a 4 x 115 amp hour battery bank and it is on battery position #1 and purchased a seperate new battery for starting my 30 hp Yanmar. It is, from my best recollection a 550 cold cranking amp battery on postion #2. After installing it all and then trying to start the boat on that single battery....it just didn't want to do it.It finally cranked after clicking for a time then after turning the battery position to both. I have read several posts about additional relays for the starter or selonoids. Does that seem the logical place to go. Previously I had a two deep cycle battery's and I would turn the battery switch to both and had no issues with starting. I don't believe the issue is the battery since it is new.....but I did fail to check it. Some input would be great from other Cutter Owners. I read the posts about selonoids and relays. I check connections first...something fishy.
..maybe your battery position switch, or battery 2 connections. It just seems it should start.... but the starter is not getting enough juice. That is why you hear the started solenoid click, but nothing to the starter...almost behaving like a dead battery even if it is not. my 2 cents.abe

It worked before and all you did is change the battery. The new battery will crank the engine unless there is a voltage drop between the battery and the starter. The textbook way is to read the voltage drop across each connection while the starter is cranking. One terminal on the battery post and one on the connector on the wire. The easy way is to hold down the starter button and wiggle the connections. When it starts to crank you found the loose one. 99% of these problems are loose or rusted connections.
