I have a 1992 33.5 Hunter and would like to install a battery moniter.
The wiring diagram (attached page 2) refers to a "shunt". Is a "shunt"
part of Hunter's wiring and if so where would it be located.
Thanks

The "shunt" is applied either over the wire or in-line depending on the mfg of the monitor.

It appears from your attachement that your ground loop would need to be cut and spades attached to the cut ends and then attached to the shunt.

You may want to inquire from some of the group on which of the monitors are the best and easiest to install.

thaeni, the Shunt should come with your Nasa Batt Monitor. The idea is to have all the current pass through it so that a small voltage could be develop across it whereby the Batt Monitor measures. As the Shunt resistance is a known factor (accurately) the monitor then calculate the power/current consumption of your onboard load. The Shunt must be wired as per the drawing. It should never be bypass, otherwise those current won't be measured and the Monitor will report wrong value consummed. I've the Linklite and its pretty much same as Nasa in wiring. Good luck.
