Every boat is different, and we all like them perfectly leveled - for many reasons. Here is my dilema: I have four group 27 batteries: one starting and 3 house bank. The weight adds up quickly when you put all of them in one spot. The original owner placed them in the aft port locker/lazzarette. The end result was that the boat is tilted to the aft port corner. I am planning to move the three house batteries down below. Question : Has anyone of you 1988-1994 Hunter 30 owners come up with some sensible solution? THe boat is on the hard now, and I don't want to run the wires and rip the whole boat apart doing it and at the end find out that the boat is stil out of balance, Thak you very much for any input !!

I'm hoping there are more replies to this one as I'm looking for help on this too. I've got an '88 30' with 2 group 27s in the original battery compartment port of the drive shaft and a 3rd group 27 in the starboard lazarette behind the wheel. I would like to add 1 more battery and am thinking about turning the lazarette into a standard starting battery to lighten up the aft weight (but then I think I need a battery isolator). If you put batteries under the seats in the salon, I suppose you could add a vent next to the bilge line or get away from lead/acids. I've also been looking at different combinations of gels and group 31s to put on their sides. Golf cart batteries too, but I can't come up with a combination to fit and get come closer to 300 amps for house.
