Hi all. Chris again that just purchased the 1973 23 converible. Just got the swing center board all freed up, engine up and running, new haylards, stays/rigging all set and pretty much all set to go exect one thing, the battery. Since the boat had sat for 6 years or so, the battery was taking out years ago. Got myself a new deep cell, and went to hook her up, and seeing things that confuse me a bit. It has a "Guest" battery switch, and I understand this for using two batteries. Out of the battery switch, there are two "bigger" blue cables that I am thinking would go to the positive or each battery (or just use one if using one battery like me). Where would the ground wire be?? The only "black" wire i can find is a very small gague one and it goes back to where the motor is and looks like it is used for when I am charging the battery off the motor. Is this the only ground?? if so, what would happen if the motor was not hooked up?? I asked the owner about this, and he is older and as I said, had not used this in over 6 years, so he wasn't much help. Any ideas??? Out of the Guest Battery swith, there are 3 wires that goes into something mounted next to it that I have no idea what it is!! It is red, 3 wires into the top...really don't know what to say about it. Shouldn't I have like a "big" ground cable going to something metal (mast??? something??).
