Battery Chargers

I currently day sail my Mac 26x and have a single deep cycle battery. I am putting the boat at a slip and I'm concerned about what type of battery charger to use. I don't want to have to remove the battery from the boat to charge it, but that is what the instructions say for most non-marine battery chargers. Do I need a marine battery charger to charge the battery in the boat? What type do you recommend? Also at some time in the future I may want to add a second battery (separate house and starting). Is there any disadvantage to buying a charger now that is designed for two batteries and using it on just one, leaving the other charging circuit disconnected?

battery charger

i use this one (see below link). you can either use the included clips or "hard wire" the unit directly to the battery. when you add a second (house) battery, use an isolator and it will re-fresh both bateries and keep them at the same charge level too. the instructions are self explanatory. Plus it's small and light weight.
