Battery Charger

Hi all, I trust you have had an enjoyable xmas and new year will be the same. I have a 2005 310 and have located the galvanic protector behind the electrical panel with all the other wiring. I have not however been able to find the battery charger. Can anyone help.

It should be in the stern port quarter. Just lift the access hatch in the cockpit seat, and if it is like mine, the battery charger should be on the shelf under the seat.

My A/C unit is also installed in that compartment and the charger was hidden by some of the ducting.

Unit failed so we replaced with a very similar (but slightly higher capacity) unit but installed new unit in compartment under port settee...very close to batteries. Had to install new (and bigger due to larger capacity) wires so was easier to install in new location rather than try to run wires back to original location.

Before we went with the the bigger unit we considered moving new unit (same capacity) to the back side of the access door in the rear berth compartment. Wires were right there, it would have fit just fine and would have much easier access to it (no A/C ducting in the way).

Very happy with the new set up.

Cam, Our charger is like toms in the port side stern locker and our galvanic isolater is in the electrical panel...
Unsure about wether the isolater is worth it but it came with the boat. We are in fresh water and she came from Fresh water.
Our charger is a Charles brand charger.

Thanks for that and sorry about the delay in answering, I have been cruising down the coast for 3 weeks on the yacht without the laptop on board. I have since located the charger. I also have a galvanic isolator and have had it checked. It works perfectly. My yacht is in salt water.

Jim, I have a qualified 12 volt electrician who I use for my 12 volt work . I had him check for any galvanic problems with his various metres gadgets and devices and he reported no problems so I presumed the galvanic isolator on my yacht is working.
