Battery Bank - Mixing Group Types

Irwin 25', cabin and running lights, bilge pump, CD changer and stereo, sink pump, no engine starting, no TV, nothing fancy. I'll maybe anchor overnight occasionally but will be at dock often.

I've done an electrical budget and have two questions:
1. Is there any problem with buying and using just one larger AGM, or
2. Is there a problem mixing two AGM's on the same bank, a U1 and a Group 22 ?

I have a Guest 10 Amp charger.

The issue with mixing different capacity (i.e., "types") is that the sensor in the charger can limit the amount of current the larger battery needs to fully recharge. Better to split the batteries so you are always assured of having a full start battery.

If you only want one battery bank, my suggestion is either use the same size/capacity batteries or just use one with caution so as to always have enough in reserve.
