I recently purchased a 1989 26S. Unfortunately, the mainsail came without battens. I've searched all over the web, but cannot find a place to order them. Any suggestions?
Just gotta poke around.I purchased replacements for my 21 fromWest Marine. I am very happy with them. They also sell raw stock if you want to make your own.
Where is Blue Water Yachts? Or is that a website? I see you're from Galesville. My father and I used to take an Annaopolis 25 out for a week on the Bay each summer and always tied up there one night. Haven't been there for years, but as I recall, it was a nice place. Thanks for replying.
I read where one guy just grabbed some free yard sticks, and cut them to length(sand the ends smooth). May not be as good or last as long as as fiberglass battens, but you should be able to find yard sticks all over the place, though maybe not free, and at least it would get you out on the water.
The battens on my 25 are 1 1/2 wide so I just trimed a slice off a fir 2x4 on the table saw, sanded the edges and slid it in. So far, so good.I probably wouldn't have gone so cheap if I wasn't planning to replace my main by next season though.
