We are upgrading our house batteries.Has anyone used "North Star -AGM batteries? They are costly and used mainly in the Telecom market.

What are your reasons for wanting AGM?
They look like a well built battery but can they be equalized? Telecom batteries often sit at full charge for years and years on end where as boat batteries are cycled often meaning equalizing may be necessary and the only AGM's I know of that can be equalized are Lifeline's..
The prices I saw for what is similar in size to a group 31 only with less Ah's (103 Ah) was $455.00! You'd need to spend $1820.00 for just a 412 Ah bank. You can spend just $400.00 and get 450 Ah's and a LONG life with 6V golf cart batteries. Look into the US2200 by US Battery they can be had for about $90.00 +/-...
