I'm considering having a barrier coat put on my 1996 29.5 this winter, any suggestions on which one to use? Thanks for all the great input! Jane

Practical Sailor, or someone like that, . . .

told me to use Interlux 2000E. So I spent eight weeks(part time) last Spring taking off all the paint, filling some minor blisters and dings, and putting three coats on. Did not use nearly the number of gallons called for on my H37C. Used two gallons for each coat. Total of six but cannot remember their chart with recommendations. Then two coats of Trinidad SR. Except for bottom coating we're good for another 20 years! Ed(schencked@bfusa.com)

INTERLUX 2000E

I did the same thing as Ed below, but put 5 coats on my keel, 3 on the hull. I had SERIOUS rusting on my keel for years. Took it down to bear metal (on all rusts spot), applied 2000. Just hauled last week after 6 months - not one spot of rust! Read up on instructions before starting - critical time limits between coats. Even with 3 coats, need about 3 days of warm, windless weather to get it all done. With 2 coats of CSC, costs me about $700 for paint.
