Barient Winches - Spare Parts anyone ??

The only place I have been able to find spare parts for my Barient winches is The Austrailian Yacht Winch Company. Since Barient is out of business, it is getting hard to find replacement gears and washers. I would appreciate anybody out there who has had a similar problem and has a different solution

Parts

Don,I found that both Boat US and West Marine have packets of some of the basic spare parts, Pawls, springs, screws, etc for Barients. They aren't in the book but on the shelves. Les

Barient parts

Last year I searched all over and found that only the Australian Y & W Co had the parts I needed. The transaction was completed by e-mail shipping by airborne express.

Good luck with Australia

Good luck with the Australian company. I got the same input from HOW last Spring, and spent six months trying to get parts for my winch. They responded after several emails, didn't have the part in stock, promised to get back to me with timing and never did. Many attempts to reestablish email contact went unanswered. I finally gave up.
