Barient winch retaining clips?

Yep. I had to have parts shipped from them when I cleaned/refurbished my 3 Barient winches. Still cheaper than new winches.

Oops. I've always serviced mine on the hard (I'm in Michigan, we have six months a year to do these things) so I've never lost a winch part. But I did read somewhere to take a deep cardboard box and cut a hole in it the size of the winch and place it over the top. Disassemble inside the box. Then anything that pops off probably won't get away.

They're called "cir-clips" or "retaining rings" and if you can measure one from another winch, you can source them in the USA. You can measure the shaft slot they mount in with calipers to get inside diameter and buy different outside diameter sizes to cover the range. They don't cost much.

We would need a picture from the OP because I don't recall any standard circlips in either size Barient I just serviced.
