Barient power wench removal and repair?

Hello all we have a Barient 27-48 wench as our primary. After our lightning strike it doesn't work properly. Has anyone take one out for repair? I don't know how it will come out the small hole and I don't know if it will come out the top if I can get the bolts out around the flange.
I will add some photos of what I am talking about. Some from the outside / top. And some from inside the boat.
