Will Baltoplate Offshore work in fresh water? Generally we use VC 17 on the Great Lakes and are hoping that it works.

If not, how difficult is it to remove?

Thanks

Most definitely will work in fresh water.
BALTOplate is used a LOT by the racing fleets near BALTIMORE (Balm'r, Merlin in local dialect) where the water can be salt or brackish or even mixed with 'zones'/eddys of fresh. Its a bit harder surface than VC17, but can be 'burnished' like VC.

Rich is right .Baltoplate can be burnished to a very slick finish and that is why racers on the Chesapeake use it. As far as anti fouling is concerned forget it, you would be better off with a standard bottom paint of almost any brand.
