Just wanted to share the happenings off my slip in Baltimore harbor this weekend. This is the 200th anniversary of the writing of our national anthem. Baltimore and Ft. McHenry are going all out in celebration. Over 30 tall sailing and military ships have passed and are on display. The Blue Angels have been practicing for days in preparation of their show Saturday and Sunday. Saturday morning is a presentation of the flag still standing at Ft. McHenry. PBS will broadcast a nationalism laden program Saturday evening followed by the largest fireworks since 2000' from six barges in the harbor. It is very festive around here. Happy birthday Star-Spangled Banner and thank you Francis Scott Key.

I saw a posting on Youtube recently in which a Marine in his 60s? sang the second verse of the National Anthem. Very impressive and inspirational. I knew there was a second verse, but had forgotten the words. Enjoy a patriotic weekend and a once-in-a-lifetime experience!
