The spring weather in the Pacific NW has been less than ideal for spring sailing adventures. Cold temps and a persistent rain, means painting and epoxy work is delayed.
A path to redemption appeared. Why not head to the east coast. Share with the wife that a special friend is tying the knot. It would mean a lot to go to the ceremony. And call another friend who has a boat in the Chesapeake. Suggest he should go sailing for a week to 10 days.
My wife agreed, I got a break on the airline tickets, and my sailing buddy (who incidentally owed me sailing adventure) said while still doing some boat repairs was all in on the opportunity too get an early start on the summer sailing season.
Only fate has another idea. Great flight arrive right on time. we meet up and head tot the boat. Only challenge. The life lines were destroyed in a freak event. The stanchion repair is incomplete. The welder has not finished reconstruction. Sailing adventure needs to be put on hold.
That and the torrential rainfall with violent wind storms followed me in my travels. Friday and Saturday were spent hiding from the weather.
Living on the boat, we work on repairing the damaged equipment. Eventually we get the harware reattached. We substitute Dyneema lines for the unavailable stainless lines and are able to head out of the marina to the Chesapeake.

We let the winds be our guide. We head south to Annapolis. making 3-4 knots.

Learning about "Snag a Slip", we get a site in the main downtown waterway. It is in the heart of the community. A visit to Pusser's Dock Side Bar lets us celebrate a safe arrival with a pair of their famous PainKillers.
Next an evening walk along Main Street, searching the eateries leads us to Harry Browne's restaurant Celebrating 42 Years of Fine, Elegant Dining.
A great place to celebrate a day of sailing and camaraderie.
Cruising on Davids (@dLj 's Spanish built Belliure 41 is a relaxing event. She is a stable platform the a glides through the water turning 7-9 knot breeze into 3-4.5 knots of sailing enjoyment.

With the new lifelines moving about the wide decks was effortless. It is a boat that one can find accommodating.
Tomorrow, we will head back North to the Old Bay Marina. If the winds hold as predicted, the sails will pop as soon as we clear the mooring field.
