Has anyone removed the ballast water from the tank at high speed? I know the dealer states it can be done, but i like to hear from Mac owners' experience. How stable is the boat following removing the water---if some water remains. How do u know all the water has been removed? How long does it take to empty and at what RPM--(50hp)--with 4 adults and no gear? Thanx for the help.

It Drains Easily

Power the boat up to full throttle and as soon as you pass about 10 mph the water will drain. It only takes about 5-6 minutes (if you take a hard right toward the end you can get every last bit). The boat still handles fine with no ballast, just don't do it in bad seas or with too many people on the deck. Just about all of the water drains as you'll see when you pull the boat from the water and almost no water drains.

Ballast draining

Ballast drains easily at 8 knots - allow about 5 minutes, or check outflow by looking down at outflow valve(make sure you have a good hold on the back rail or post) - is flow a solid flow or just a dribble flowing out into fast wake - with a little practice you can tell.? Shut the valve(I use a boat pole)and then close air bleed up under the forward port storage space
