Ballast vent hole: What is the size of the plug?

I bough a 1" diameter one but too small. Bought a second one with 1.1/4" but too big???? I am lost!!!!

Should be turned to work

Most of these rubber plugs are assembled on a threaded body with a taper. When you turn the assembly by the handle it should expand and fill the hole. Let us know. Steve P.
