ballast tank

has anyone ever had to replace the bolt that holds the ballast plug against the hull? my wing nut is frozen topside and wont budge to release ballast water, after an hour of pounding, a gallon of liquid wrench and wd40, it still is frozen with no possible explaination. any and all suggestions are welcomed.

heat it

Heat the wing nut, not the bolt, with a small flame. The nut will expand away from the bolt, loosening it. Remove while still hot.

bearing grease

I had the same problem. But to keep it from happening again, I keep a little bearing grease on it.Good luckMac
