Lyle Hess had it built Strong. He designed it so a person could trailer to a launching site, sail out on the ocea, and the boat would bring him back safely. Look at it's "bottle" shape. The controls are simple. the keel swings up if you run aground. It came with Jiffy Reefing. Very thick fiberglass in the hull compared to todays similar purpose sailboats.
