Balboa 23' main sail and beam

just bought 78 Balboa 23...the only marking on main sail is number 1....shouldn't factory sail be marked B23??? ....also beam hangs on head level - I feel that is too low - compared to other sailboats.....my thought on this is that the sail come from some other sailboat and is too big, making beam hanging too low....what do you guys think??:confused:

You're taliking about a 32 year old boat, dude. What makes you think the previous owner wasn't too cheap to buy a real Balboa 23 sail. Go look up the measurements on any sailmaker's website and see if they match yours. Our opinion doesn't mean squat.
