My wife tried baking brownies in the Force 10 oven that is in our Hunter 41DS. She used a glass 9x13 pyrex dish. First it cooked the back edge by the flame, so she tried turning it several times. The center never did get done. the edges burned. She ended up scooping out the part that wasn't burned and tried using a rubber 8" square baking dish pan (we don't know what it is called). She continued cooking it and turning it. It came out better.

Are there any helpful thoughts any mariner cooks may have?

You need a heat sink at the bottom of the oven. I forget what they're called. Somebody else will...:):):)

our gas oven cooks hotter than the knob says, so we turn it down about 25-50 degrees to keep from burning things.

the numbers on the knob is only a rough estimate of the interior heat, so an oven thermometer may help you find the heat range that you need.

preheating for a good amount of time is a must, and keeping the door closed, so no checking until the last couple of minutes of cooking time.

the fact that the edges cooked but the center didnt is indicative of either too much heat or not enough oven preheat time.. when using an unfamilier oven, practice, practice, practice makes perfect, and perfect will eventually require the need for a good diet plan:D

Do you mean that she should have put the pan on the bottom of the oven rather than on the grated rack?

Find one of those pizza stones that may fit your oven and place it on the rack. Use an oven thermometer and make sure you preheat to the desired temperature before placing your food in.
