Exactly what are the Bahamian and Mediterranean moors? I understand that one is a stern line going to shore and a bow line going to an anchor. The boat can be moored even close enough that you can step off the transom to the dock. There is another that involves dropping two anchors and allowing the bow of the boat to choose between them, based on the tide. What is that one called? I understand that the Bahamian moor is neither of these. So now I am confused. (No and I do not have a copy of Rousimiere's book; it's on my Christmas list.) JC 2

J, a Mediterranean moor is the first method you described: You have one anchor line off the stern going to a dock or shore, and the other line going off the bow. The Bahamian moor is the second method you described: Two anchors off the bow and set off a distance/angle from each other. I have heard of John Rousmaniere's "Safety at Sea" DVD, and that is is a must viewing for any serious boater.
