Bag of regular service parts....

Newbie. Hunter 27. 1GM Yanmar.

Found a bag in the boat with parts list - image below.

Any idea where this came from ? Is there a "general service parts kit" for Yanmar ? My manual is down on boat - so I can't check part numbers to see if they are Yanmar numbers.

One last question: the zinc - how often replaced ? Boat has spent life in upper, upper Chesapeake - which is "darn near freshwater".

A perfunctory check of google shows:

But the impeller's number is off by one digit.

Looking in my book I find that those numbers are all good. The impeller number is the new part number that replaced the old 128170 number.
I think those are available as a "spares Kit" from Yanmar .. Lots of discussion about impeller and zinc maintenance.. In "normal" use, the impeller is good for a couple of years.. The zinc should be checked every year and depending on how quickly it is disappearing, develop your own schedule. I know some engines that have to have 'em replaced every year, and I know of one up a fresh water bayou whose zincs last 4 years.. Let your own experience guide you.. Keep a log book for stuff like that..

You should also do some reading on sacrificial anodes. Zincs are for use in saltwater. to quote Don Casey -
"aluminum anodes tend to last longer, they work better than zinc in brackish water (and maybe in salt water as well) and they appear to be better for the environment. When making the switch from zinc to aluminum, ALL of your anodes must be aluminum.
In fresh water, magnesium anodes protect underwater metals better, particularly underwater aluminum. However, magnesium is a good choice for freshwater only. If any of your boating is also in brackish or salt water, fit aluminum anodes."

Do some reading and make an informed decision.
