Agreed. Keel should not be hanging free.Where are the blocks under the wing keel ?

It's not, the keel is blocked up. In fact the boat was set on the blocks then the stands moved into place and adjusted for support. They (the stands) also have wood support. They just don't show in the photo.Agreed. Keel should not be hanging free.
Catalina 310s are made with vinylester. So there is no blistering concern. The hull is solid glass.that crack may be a blessing in disguise ......if you gelcoat was marginal it very well could have been a seed to a future blister problem.....is you hull cored....if so look on the inside as well.....
thanks JK thats good to knowCatalina 310s are made with vinylester. So there is no blistering concern. The hull is solid glass.

That's really strange. I don't think a major boat builder has seen a case of blisters since the late 1990s. It's a chemical process that doesn't happen with vinyl ester. Are you sure it was blisters and not voids in the layup? On the last haul out my 2005 had some blisters.
Or in the paint? Are you sure it was blisters and not voids in the layup?
The truth is I wouldn't know a blister if it broke open and spit at me. However, the yard guys said blisters, and the marine surveyor said blisters. They were small little lumps, perhaps 3/32 proud of the rest of the hull. There were five, small, about 1/4 inch to 1/2 inch in diameter, all within a 3 ft diameter circle on the starboard stern, behind, and toward the waterline of the raw water intake. That's really strange. Did the surveyor give you any pics or other details? Do you have pics of the repair being done? The truth is I wouldn't know a blister if it broke open and spit at me. This is what the survey said:Did the surveyor give you any pics or other details? Do you have pics of the repair being done?
Sorry to push but if this is blisters that could mean that Catalina had a problem with their vinyl ester formula and that could be a major concern for all of us that own later model Catalinas.
Thanks,
Jesse
