Hello all. Trying to find out what the original backstay length on my Rhodes 19 is. I guess I can run some line and step the mast to find out what to order, but would rather not. Anyone have that spec?

I have a drawing that I made up of the all the stays on my R19. A friend of mine needed the info as well to make stays. He said the drawing worked well. I think I have e-mailed you before, I try to find the e-mail address and send you a PDF of my dimensions.

Perhaps this may help, it is from a 1979 O'DAY memo...

Rhodes 19 Standing Rigging Specs.

Headstay: 1/8” x 19’6 1/2”

Upper Shroud:1/8” x 19’3 1/2”

Lower Shrouds: 1/8” x 11’7”

Backstay: 3/32” x 28’4”

Jumper Stays: 3/32” x 14’ 9 ½”

All Standing rigging is SS 1x19 type wire and lengths are with turnbuckle (where applicable) closed, from eye to eye (most riggers measure with turnbuckles half-closed, so be sure to note this and/or bring old rigging to rigger to measure for replacement)

Thanks for that. I'll measure my other stay/shrouds and compare, then I will know if I need the factory length or not. Mine is a '77, so should be similar.
