Hi there,
pretty new to this forum and pretty new sailboat owner as well.

Bought a 2002 french built Oceanis Clipper 361 some weeks ago. Preowner lost during a stormy ride the wind indicator at the mast top. Boat is equipped with UK brand Cetrek (Autopilot 730, C-Net 2000, NMEA0183 compatible). Company is not existing any more. Very poor documentation available.

Not sure if I just can replace the windindicator unit with an actual brand or if I need to also install a new instrument in the cockpit and how this does fit to the Cetrek:confused::confused::confused::confused:

Looking for cheap way to get the things fixed.
Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

Congratulations on your boat purchase, you chose well and will be very happy with her ability and forgiving nature.

By the way, there is nothing cheap in the world of sailing unless you steal it or it falls of the back of a truck. however in regard to your question.

I googled to see what I could find and the 3rd search I fornd that you had done the same so I stopped looking. one would think that you would have to match a unit to the Cetrecks but I would run it by Raymarine or an other supplier of a similar unit and see what they have to say...?

Benjamin,
thank you for your message and your support.
Asked my dealer and he made me a good offer. He will provide me with both a mast top unit together with the corresponding instrument for testing free of charge. Problems may can arise with different resistance values between the Cetrek and an up-to-date manufacturer (of course Raymarine) resulting in unusable results on the instrument, he said.
Will try....
