B&R rig on H340. Stepping and unstepping

I've just purchased a new 2001 H340. Anunfortunate fact of sailing here on Lake Michigan is thinking about winter storage. The dealer that I purchased the boat from is outstanding but is also a full day's travel back and forth. I want to store the boat closer to home. My question is: On the B&R rig. One would think this is a relatively complex rig and special care is needed for unstepping and rigging when stepped in the spring. I'vefound one local storage yard that I've spoken with that I feel comfortable with (Great Lakes Marine in Grafton WI)but am I making more of this issue than need be.?????Thanks in advance for any responses.

No Big Deal But....

Just a suggestion - try to find a yard that will accommodate your boat without unstepping the rig. There is no real pain in leaving the rig up, from some presepctives it is better.If you cannot, then make sure you participate in the breaking down of the rig. Inventory and label every connection and fitting, so you can either put it back yourself, or at least supervise the restep. Do not automatically rely on the yard unless you know them well - having worked in boat yards over the years, the range of talent and experience is very wide, and come crunch time in the spring, you might get a greenie or a hacker.Once the rig is stepped, suggest you find archive on how to tune on this web site, download it, read it, and you should be fine. There have been other threads among the owners on the subject worth reading. I think all in all, everything you need to know you can find in this site, and it is less of a big deal than it seems. Just get the info - not too complicated.Best of luckGeoff

Good Experience

Our marina lets us do our own masts with a bomm supplied by the marina. With the help of a couple of fellow sailers I un-stepped

Mast

No big deal! You take it down and put it up just like any other mast. The big difference is if you mess with the intermittents. If your tuned right you don't touch these any way. It is a good ideal to label your Cables at the chain plate so that they go back to the same place.
