B&G Autopilot install - glass, Al, or SS mounting brackets or naked?

I need to mount the autopilot ram. It looks like a transverse bulkhead is my best bet (C&C 30MKii) I could likely mount the unit directly to the wall, but better range of motion for the pilot would be to a horizontal surface. So I was planning an Aluminum bracket off of the bulkhead, but then thought glassing a plywood cored custom bracket may allow for spreading the load even further.
The bulkhead is fairly thin, and is the foot of my aft cabin

The ram, pushing a relatively short tiller arm, does take a pretty significant amount of force. Beneteau mounted ours on a 90* bracket, through bolted to a pretty hefty stainless backing plate.
