I currently own "Vesper", (1868). Several years ago, I owned "Lorelei",
(321). Both are Vegas. 321 is currently rotting away at a marina on the
U.S. Submarine Base near me here in Groton, CT.
Just before I sold her in about 1993, I had the Atomic-4 completely
overhauled by a well-renouned overhaul mechanic in my area. The overhaul was
over $1,600.00. The boat was used for two - or three years after that. The
fellow that bought her then bought a larger sailboat and abandoned Lorelei.
I have absolutely no "rights" to her, but if anybody is interested, I can
put you in touch with the owner. I think she could be purchased for a very
reasonable price. As far as I know, the hull is sound. I have no reason to
believe the engine is not, but no guarantees. The hatches and all exposed
wood is in terrible shape.
