Hello all HOW readers. I have recently purchased a Legend 35.5 and it is my first boat with CNG powered stove. The previous boats used propane and before that alcohol. I am trying to get the cylinder filled to start the season (no comments from those who's season never ends!). Can anyone advise me of a source in Ontario to get my CNG cylinder filled? I live in the south west portion but any location would be of interest. Appreciate any help. Glen Legend 35.5 - Alias

Glen, check with your local marine supply ...

outfits. Ours does a CNG tank exchange. That way you know the tank is certified. I bring in my empty and they give me a full one for about $28. Terry

Check the archive

There have been discussions on this where people have purchased adapters to use at auto CNG fill stations. If automotive natural gas stations are available in your area, the adapter will cost a few dollars, but the cost of each fill will be negligible.

Glen, I cannot speak for Canadian sources...

although some Canadian marine supply places might carry tank exchanges, I do not know that for a fact. You might have better luck in the US. Terry

Glenn; Check with Consumers Gas. They had a Sea NG refill station program twenty years ago and may still have it. Also, check with any natural gas refuelling stations in your area. You may have to get a 350 nitrogen tank fitting, a guage, and a safety release valve for 2400lbs system to be able to fill your tank. Good luck, Mac

Thanks Mac

I have gotten in touch with a vehicle natural gas conversion company in town that will look at the tank to see what if any new fittings I need and the local CNG refueling station claim (on the phone) that they can fill it if they have the right fittings on the tank. I will keep my fingers crossed. Regards, Glen
