Aloha Y'all
(Well we are pretty far south at 21 North)

Aparently I've been remiss in keeping people informed.

The American Vega Association serves owners and enthusiasts of the Per
Brohall designed Albin Vega 27 sloop. We share information, moral
support and sponsor get togethers that can't really called regattas
because we don't do much racing nowadays. We call them "Rendezvous".
Our purpose is to promote, preserve and enjoy sailing our boats and
to gather to enjoy fellowship and camaraderie and share ideas and swap
tall tales.

New memberships: United States Residents - $12
International Memberships - US$15 (Because of the postage) - Includes
one year subscription to "Fair Winds", the newsletter of the American
Vega Association beginning with the next issue after payment is
received, a copy of the VORM (Vega Owners Repair and Maintenance
Manual) revised Jan 2002 and now containing 131 pages of invaluable
information for Vega owners, compiled by members over the past thirty
years, on a CD which also contains the complete archive of "Fair
Winds" and AVA News beginning with the August 2000 issue plus the
complete Rendezvous photo album

Never before were we able to include all previous issues of the
newsletter to new members and the photo album was out of the question.
Due to the advent of current technology we are now able to update the
CD with each new issue of "Fair Winds" and the VORM can be updated
instantly to stay current with the latest information available.

Renewals: United States Residents - $12
International Memberships - US$15

All memberships expire with the calendar year.

We encourage members to choose the CD due to substantially reduced
cost of production and postage over the paper version. At this time
every CD has the complete archive including the latest issue of the
newsletter. We will continue this practice until we run out of space
on the CD medium.

Hi Chuck,

Thanks for the reminder. I'm late of course but "THE CHECK'S IN THE
MAIL". Also a quick question; Carolyn and I have been working hard
to get Moondance ready for a Caribbean cruise starting next year.
We've made a few modifications and plan on making a few more before
it's all over. I know it's a long ways off but eventually I would
like to take a few pictures of the changes and keep in touch with
the group as we cruise. Now for the question: Can you use regular
pictures or do you have to have digital pics?

Regular snapshots are fine. I can scan them into my computer. Hi-res digitals are best but good clear prints work almost as well. If you check out "Fair Winds" #9 and #10, all the photos from Tony Skidmore's article on his circumnavigation in Lorna Doone were scanned snapshots. The pics of Dick Brauer and John Sprague's boats in issue #11 were too. All photos, drawings, scratchings and scribblings are welcome.
