AVA dues due

Chuck,
I confess I've not been following the messages closely regarding AVA
membership--but the recent arrival of your magnificent newsletter makes me
suddenly aware I'm probably overdue in paying my dues. Could you send a general
reply to all of us reminding us how it works--we pay every January? How much,
again, and the address to send the check to? And finally, my memory is fuzzy too
on whether there are options for receiving the paper newsletter vs. a CD
version? And there's an overall club CD called the VORM (for the life of me I
can't recall exactly what that stands for!)--this CD has probably been updated
since I perhaps received one (I'm drowning in paper and can't locate it, if I
have one, in my files). Assuming there may be others like me who've lost memory
cells to early Alzheimer's or too many toasts to Neptune, maybe you can run down
on the basics for all of us?

And as usual, thanks for the outstanding job you've been doing!

Well Tom, there have been a few changes with the introduction of the
CD and the changes in my costs so I'm not surprised if some are
confused. There are more changes coming too. At present, the CD is
cheaper to produce and mail than the paper newsletter. Since the CD
can contain so much information, I can put the complete newsletter
archive, including the latest issue, plus the VORM (Which stands for
"Vega Owners Repair and Maintenance Manual") and the photo albums and
more on one CD. You may remember not too long ago I stopped printing
the VORM for new members and put it on the CD because of cost. Now,
with my new equipment, we can provide all of the information we have
plus the newsletter subscription without raising the dues or charging
an initiation fee.

Memberships run the calendar year and all expire on December 31st.
Dues are US$12 for members residing in the United States. For members
outside the US, dues are US$15. You may choose to receive the
Newsletter on CD ROM or on paper. At this time the CDs all contain
the complete archive plus the VORM and photo album. I'll keep doing
it that way until the amount of accumulated data won't fit on one CD.
