AVA Announcement

Good News!

After checking our ledger balance, I find it will not be necessary to
collect renewal fees for 2008. anyone who is a current member will be
automatically renewed for next year. This is thanks to the success of
our Ship's Store and our advertising sponsors. I will be redesigning
the store as time permits to make it more useful to our members and,
if the trend continues, it may eventually be possible to do away with
membership fees altogether.

If your contact information has changed please do stop by the web site
and fill out the update form on the sign up page.

Hey Chuck:

Hope that applies to "honourary" VEGAtarians as well.

I posted some photos - hope the group does not mind.

So Chuck, so all I do is buy another T shirt, or a sweatshirt with
the Vega logo printed on it and I kinda get a free American Vega Assn.
membership? That is very kool! And Brian, those pictures are very
good, and the boat looks nice too.

That's pretty much it.

If you order books from Amazon.com through the AVA web site portal or
West Marine products online via links on our web site, like the
bicycles or seasick remedies linked in some of the articles, or any
other product once you enter Amazon or WM from the AVA site, the AVA
gets a 4% comission. The logo items from Cafe press are a little
different and I have temporarily removed them. They'll be back soon,
I hope, in a more accessible format. Also, just clicking on the
Google adsense ads scattered around the site adds a few pennies to the
pot. I've tried to keep the ads unobtrusive and to keep them
relevant. If you find anything you don't think belongs please don't
hesitate to let me know.

We haven't quite reached the point that we can make new memberships
free but we are close.

I don't know about you but we order books and movies online from
Amazon.com anyway. Starting from the AVA web site only makes sense.
Since our recent voyage we've developed a list of books we think were
helpful so we'll be posting that in our voyage log with links to help
you find them easily while supporting the AVA at the same time.
