Hello, I have a 1990 Catalina 30' with a Yanmar 2GM20F diesel with 2.62 gear ratio and stainless shaft. The Autoprop sales guy recommended a H5-380/15 inch 3-blade Autoprop as a preliminary recommendation, but said I need to send him some shaft-to-hull and shaft-to-strut measurements to get a better idea about installation and problems I might encounter with the install. Anybody running an Autoprop on a Catalina 30? If so, what size and number of blades? Did you have any installation problems? Do you have enough clearance between the blade tips and the hull? Did you have to make any modifications to the strut to allow for enough blade clearance when shifting from forward to reverse? Is the performance of the Autoprop as great as it's made out to be?
