Hi,

Today i noticed a new problem on the autopilot of my hunter 340 -1999.

I could hear a strange noise while adjustment occurs, like a lose belt on a wheel. Also sometime, adjustments could not be completed.

Does anyone knows, if there are parts that should be maintained in the autopilot, or belts to be checked or replace.

Thank you.

I don't know what kind you have but I rebuilt my ST1000 with a kit. It came with new belts and metal gears to replace the original plastic ones. Doesn't slip any more seems much stronger. Good luck. I found the kit on EBay.

But i think that the problem is in the wheel mechanism, not in the autopilot itself, as i can hear the motor of the autopilot working.

In fact, i found in the rear of the wheel a knob that allows you to calibrate the grip of the autopilot on the wheel.
I adjust it, and now things seems better.
Thank you for your assistance

My Autohelm started making noises as the belt began to fail. I found a place that sells the exact belt. Runs like a charm, again.
