I have recently purchased a new to me (2002) 40cc. the boat does not have an autopilot and I am interrested to know what is recommended for this boat. If anyone can share wisdom , it will be much appreciated:confused:

I just upgraded from a wheel pilot to a Raymarine type 1 linear drive - very happy with it, as I have more time to balance sails while working solo. This pilot is rated for boats to 22,000 lbs.

Nice boat, congratulations.

There are a number of different autopilot manufacturers out there. Raymarine is ubiquitous for recreational boats of your size, but wheel pilots would be too small for you.

You could look into Alpha, Roberston, Simrad and CPT, among others.

A quick Google on boat autopilots would give you the whole spread.

I have a 1999 Oceanis 40 CC with the Raymarine hydraulic autopilot (ST 7000). Outdated by now but very happy with it.
