Hi Bob, My last two autohelm pilots have had the autotack feature. Both tacked the boat through 100 degrees. It may have escaped notice that modern yachts tack through less than 80 degrees. This means one hell of a grind on the genoa winch to sheet it home, and then two 10 degree button presses to get back on to a proper course. Can you influence the folks in Portsmough to get an alternative software program please? I have tried but am unable to disturb the even tenure of their ways. Regards, Don Alexander.

It is already there!

An "Adjustable Tack Angle" feature was added to the Type 100/300 (used with the 6000 autopilot) course computer with version 11 of software on approx May 99. This angle can be adjusted from 40-125 degrees. The change in the tack angle is made in the Dealer Calibration menu of the pilot. I hope this helps you out!

Thanks

Thanks for the info re tacking angle. Will contact Raymarine in Portsmouth to enquire about new software. Hope it will not require removing the instrument from the boat as it is comprehensively wired in. Regards,
