Automatic bilge pump

Just launched my new 8.6 which needs an automatic bilge pump. Reviews are very critical of Rule pumps,which I purchased. Also, issues with water running back down,the pump recycling and killing the batteries. Has anyone addressed this, maybe using a check valve? Thanks in advance.

I would try to avoid using a check valve as they cause resistance and can clog. A loop in the hose can often solve this problem if needed. Sounds like you are not sure yet so see how it goes. As for Rule pumps, I have tried others but have found the Rule pumps to be fine for the the money. Sure you can get better pumps but you pay for it.
